For my part, Thanksgivings weren’t Thanksgiving without onions in cheese sauce. I was surprised when I was an adult, and asked her how to make them, and discovered that the cheesy ingredient was actually American cheese! I just remember that there was never very much of them (little tiny pearl onions) and we all fought to get some. I haven’t had them in an age, and now I’m craving making them…

What recipe of your grandmother’s do you have fond memories of?
Here’s mine: I love my grandmother’s extra cheesy au gratin potatoes (hint: you may see a Cheesy au Gratin Potatoes photo here in the weeks to come). We ask her to make them every holiday, and as a family we go through two casserole dishes of them! Her recipe reminds me of family gatherings and good times. -Veronica

I haven’t been that enthralled by Black Veil Brides before now, but Chick insisted that I had to hear this song. And yes, I love it. On the other hand, she says she wants to marry it. :)
At our Tae Kwon Do school, the kids are often given a word of the day. That word is repeated several times throughout the lesson, and the children are encouraged to listen for it, and when they hear it, they clap their hands together and yell it out. Missing it means they do push-ups. This creates a game of it, but it also means they do listen. And things stick. And these words are repeated often, so they learn the words and the meanings behind them, as they apply both to their sport and to their lives outside of the dojang.
Today’s word of the day is Perseverance.
